Health Affairs eBooks are for your personal use only, but you are allowed to download and access your books on a total of 5 devices. If you exceed 5, you will receive an error message “Maximum device limit exceeded”.
Yes, once you have purchased the eBook it is yours. The title is stored on your eBooks account and you can access it at any time by logging in with your username and password. Most formats allow you to download the title as many times as you like, however, Adobe format eBooks have a license which enables you to download three times. If you need to download your eBook again and you are receiving an error message indicating that you have used all of your licenses, please contact our Support Staff who will be happy to reset this license for you.
In addition to zoom, reading, and downloading, eBooks are fully searchable and users can annotate, bookmark, and highlight them. Users can search for terms in a single book, across their purchased titles, or across the full site. Users can also print a limited number of pages.
eBooks cannot be returned. Once the eBook is purchased, the sale is considered to be complete and final.
1. Health Affairs eBooks are encrypted PDF/ePub files that can be accessed online through a browser on any PC/Mac.
2. You can download the eBooks using the iPublishCentral Reader on to your PC/Mac.
3. You can download the eBooks on to an iPad and Android device iPublishCentral app. Instructions to access Health Affairs eBooks on an iPad and Android Tablets can be found HERE
4. eBooks subscribed through Health Affairs eBook site cannot be downloaded as a file onto any devices and you cannot use a third party application to read these eBooks.
5. Health Affairs eBooks cannot be downloaded or copied onto a pen/thumb drive.
6. Health Affairs eBooks cannot be accessed on e-Ink based readers like Kindle/Nook/Kobo/Sony eReader etc.
7. eBooks subscribed through Health Affairs eBookstore cannot be read on iBookstore or any other third party readers such as Stanza, Mobipocket Reader, Barnes and Noble eReader, The Microsoft Reader, Kindle for PC etc.
8. Health Affairs eBooks cannot be printed.
Your purchase entitles you to access and view your eBook either 1) online at ebooks.healthaffairs.org, or 2) offline on your PC/Mac/tablet using the iPublishCentral Reader or App, subject to any conditions and limitations due to technology and/or contractual agreements between Health Affairs and its vendors. Your subscribed eBooks appear under the Bookshelf tab. Click " Read Online " to read.
Step 1: Place the Cursor at the beginning of the text you would like to select.
Step 2: Hold down the "left mouse button" and move the mouse (drag) over the text you want to select.
Step 3: Release the mouse button and choose the highlight color of your choice.
If you wish to make an annotation, click on Notes and a Pop-Up Box will appear where you can type in the required text.
Health Affairs eBooks supports the iPad, iPad Mini, iPhone, & iPod Touch running iOS 4.0 or later.
1. Download the iOS app from the App store link.
2. Login to Health Affairs eBooks using your registered credentials in the Get Books tab.
3. Then, tap on the Close button to close the Account window.
4. Next, you’ll tap on the My Bookshelf tab at the bottom of the iPad app.
5. Here, your purchased eBook(s) will appear to be grayed out.
6. When you tap on the eBook, it will start downloading to the My Bookshelf in the app.
7. Once it is downloaded, tap on the eBook to read it.
Bookmarks can be made by clicking on the Bookmark option as shown in the image.
1. Long Press and hold over the text you would like to select.
2. Drag over the text you want to select.
3. Choose the Highlight/Notes option
4. Select the Color/Underline or notes option
You can share the preview ViewInside of titles several different ways. When viewing the ViewInside, you can click on the envelope in the upper right to e-mail it to someone, or you can click on the " + " sign to post the widget to a social networking site or to get the widget code to paste into your own website.
The Online ePub reader is equipped with all the features that are required for personalization like Booksmarks, Notes and Highlights.
Login to your account and open the subscribed eBook for online reading. You will notice all personalization option on the reader.
a) Open the eBooks site http://ebooks.healthaffairs.org on any modern browser that supports flash.
b) Click on the Login option located on top-right hand side panel and sign in with your registered credentials (Username & Password).
c) Once you are successfully logged in, you will be redirected to your bookshelf page.
d) You will see your subscribed eBooks with Online Reading Options.
e) Click on the " Read Online " to read the eBook online.
The eBook can be downloaded as long as the computer is online at the time.
a. From My Bookshelf, click on the link to download iPublishCentral Reader (see instructions below).
b. Follow the prompts to download and install the iPublishCentral Reader and the Adobe Air program.
c. You can then log in to your Health Affairs eBooks -- use " ebooks.healthaffairs.org " as the Site URL, do not use http// or https//.
d. This will allow you to login to the reader without any problem. You will then have all of your titles available to you for offline viewing.
Please follow the below instructions to install the iPublishCentral Reader application to your PC/Mac and download the eBook to the iPublishCentral Reader.
Once you login using your account you will notice a button “Download App” button towards top right of the screen.
Click on the Download App button to go to the installation page. Click on Install button to set up iPublishCentral reader on your system.
When you use iPublishCentral reader for the first time, you need to login (right-hand side).
Then enter the following information.
Log in as Normal user:
1. Select Normal User.
2. Enter the URL "ebooks.healthaffairs.org" in the Site URL, do not use http// or https//. This will allow you to login to the reader without any problem.
3. Enter your username in the Username field.
4. Enter your password in the Password field.
5. Click the Sign In button.
6. If the login credentials are incorrect, then an error message will be displayed "Failed to Authenticate. Invalid Site Information".
7. Bookshelf displays the subscribed eBooks with a Download button. The iPublishCentral reader will verify your account details. If the account details are correct, the reader will continue to load.
Once loaded, you can see all the books that you have subscribed online with a download link for offline reading.
To change your password once logged in:
Click on Drop Down showing your username at top right and select Profile option.
Select Change Password option. Filling in the required information and click on Change Password button.
